I wish to acknowledge gratefully the kind assistance of professionals who have given advice in the identification of many species shown on this web site. If there are any errors, the blame is mine and not anyone else's. Those who have helped include: Ted Pike, Robin Leech, Gerry Beyersbergen, Geoff Holroyd, Paul Goossen, Gary Anweiler, Ludo Bogaert, and of course my good friend Peter Demulder. From May, 2007, I have received generous assistance from members of the St. Albert Birders Network - Dave Nadeau (RIP), Alan Hingston, Gerald Romanchuk, Terry Thormin, Dan Stoker and others. There are others, I am sure, and please forgive the omissions.

There are several pictures taken in Manitoba by my father, John Lane. Notable are those taken of the Baird's Sparrow - he wrote the Bent Life History of that species, for the Smithsonian.

The Flowers are a mess but might some day be restored
