
We saw many spectacular mammals in both the mountains and the plains.
It was hard to beat the beauty of this male Antelope, whose mate is shown below.
We recorded 60+ bird and 15 mammal species.

Mammals - Waterton/Glacier: The black bears seen in Waterton had white marks on their chests: "Some specimens may develop a white "crescent moon" mark on the chest. In addition to Black Bears, there were Wapiti (ELK), Bighorn Sheep, Mountain Goats, Mule Deer, White-tailed Deer, Chipmunk. The goats were seen in Many Glaciers, USA. The Yellow-Pine Chipmunk was also seen at the Many Glaciers location. The Bighorn Sheep was at Waterton.

We did not record all the duck species we saw. The only shorebirds were a lonely Killdeer and about 20 Wilson's Snipe. There were Kingfishers in C Hills park. | ![]() Common Merganser (Water'n) | ![]() Killdeer |
